DUBLIN, Ireland (July 25) - Irish archaeologists Tuesday heralded the
discovery of an ancient book of psalms by a construction worker who spotted
something while driving the shovel of his backhoe into a bog.
The approximately 20-page book has been dated to the years 800-1000. Trinity
College manuscripts expert Bernard Meehan said it was the first discovery of an
Irish early medieval document in two centuries.
"This is really a miracle find," said Pat Wallace, director of the National
Museum of Ireland, which has the book stored in refrigeration and facing years
of painstaking analysis before being put on public display.
"There's two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all,
it's unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all,
and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is
incalculably more amazing."
He said an engineer was digging up bogland last week to create commercial
potting soil somewhere in Ireland's midlands when, "just beyond the bucket of
his bulldozer, he spotted something." Wallace would not specify where the book
was found because a team of archaeologists is still exploring the site.
"The owner of the bog has had dealings with us in past and is very much in favor
of archaeological discovery and reporting it," Wallace said.
Crucially, he said, the bog owner covered up the book with damp soil. Had it
been left exposed overnight, he said, "it could have dried out and just
vanished, blown away."
The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83,
in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of
Israel.
Wallace said several experts spent Tuesday analyzing only that page -- the
number of letters on each line, lines on each page, size of page -- and the
book's binding and cover, which he described as "leather velum, very thick
wallet in appearance."
It could take months of study, he said, just to identify the safest way to pry
open the pages without damaging or destroying them. He ruled out the use of
X-rays to investigate without moving the pages.
Ireland already has several other holy books from the early medieval period,
including the ornately illustrated Book of Kells, which has been on display at
Trinity College in Dublin since the 19th century.

Eve, then Abraham and his descendants from both a natural and spiritual

until our Heavenly Father made His 'New Covenant' with/for each of us through
Jesus Christ ... A Spiritual Covenant ... Good News for those who seek, hear and
choose to embrace it.
FOR THOSE UNAWARE It may be of
interest/help for you to know who is who genealogy/covenant wise (If the
understanding I have been given is correct), the Ishmaelites (Hagrites are
Ishmaels descendants) are the descendents of Abram of Mesopotamia, (before
he was called Abraham through a covenant God initiated with him and Sarah his
wife in Genesis 17), through the Egyptian Hagar's son Ishmael... (Genesis
15-25:17, Chapter 16 contains a prophecy regarding Ishmael before his birth.)
Isaac was born of Abraham and Sarah after a looooooong awaited prophecy was
finally fulfilled... through impatience, Sarai and Abram tried to make it happen
in their effort to help God according to their own understanding and thus
Ishmael was conceived through the actions of their limited perspective ...
Chapter 17 contains a prophecy regarding Isaac, the promised son... through whom
Jesus descended.... through the lineage of King David. The coming of Jesus as
the Messiah King is initially spoken of ... foreshadowed in Genesis 3:15 to
Eve.... promising redemption from the deceptions of evil for humanity. Genesis
22:18 prophecies ... speaks of the blessings for all nations which will later
come through Jesus as the promised Messiah in the fullness of time) The
Ishmaelites are today's Arabs ... some are of the Muslim faith.
Edom and Amalek refers to those of the descendants of Jacob's twin
brother Esau (Genesis 36). Jacob, the second born son of Isaac and Rebecca a
Syrian became Israel, (Genesis 32:28) through a covenant God initiated with
Jacob as a descendant of Father Abraham ... and eventually Jesus. The offering
of the life of Isaac was a foreshadow of the life of Jesus being offered for
humanity in the fullness of time. The Israelites are today's Jews who are
still waiting for their Messiah. (Genesis 25:19) Their eyes were blinded to
Jesus as their Messiah and the new covenant for a season, for the sake of
the Gentiles ... those outside of the covenant of God (Romans 11). Esau Jacobs
twin married into the Ishmaelite clan (Genesis 28:9). Esau sold his spiritual
birthright as the firstborn for food... to Jacob (Immediate relief seemed to be
more important than his spiritual inheritance). This was a part of the
fulfillment of a prophecy given to Rebecca their mother (Genesis 25:20-34), when
they were struggling with one another within their mother's womb.
Moab and Ammon are sons of Lot... Abram's nephew, who received his chosen
portion of land, after Abram asked him to separate himself from his tribe due to
strife among the herdsman. Lot left Canaan and took his family to outskirts of
Sodom and Gomorrah on the plain of Jordan. (Genesis 12-19 ). After this (Genesis
13) God initiated another covenant with Abram promising him great land. Abram
moved to the land of Hebron... which is why the Jews are also called Hebrews.

God began to call Abram, Abraham in Genesis 17, assuring him he has become the
father of many nations. It seems to be the Jews... Muslims, and Christians each
see themselves as a part of the Covenant of Abraham. Each sees Palestine as a
Holy Land and part of their inheritance as children of God. Many Christians have
been given the understanding they are a part of a New Covenant God initiated
with all of humanity which is a spiritual covenant... making all who accept this
covenant to be a spiritual descendant of Abraham ... Father God, through the
life/death/resurrection of Jesus Christ... the promised Savior. They are
awaiting the fulfillment of the promise the Hebrew people's eyes will be opened
to Jesus, Yesuah as their Messiah. (Romans 11:25-)
For those who as yet have not looked up the Scripture which speaks of the
prophecy over the life of Ishmael and his kindred here it is for your
consideration: Genesis 16:9-12 "... and the Angel of the Lord said unto her,
(Hagar) "Return to your mistress (Sari) and submit yourself to her hands. I will
multiply your seed exceedingly that it shall not be numbered for multitude...
behold you are with child and shall bear a son and shall call his name Ishmael;
because the Lord has heard your affliction. He will be a wild man; his hand will
be against every man, and every man's hand against him and he shall dwell in the
presence of all his kindred." Remember... the descendants of Ishmael are the
Arabs... some of whom are today's Muslims. (A Evangelist sister in the family of
God in Israel has assured us that there are many Muslims and Jews being
converted to Christianity daily... she knows this through first hand experience.
She says the war in the Middle East is a catalyst in bringing this about.)
**natural Israel often mirrors Spiritual Israel ... it is like all of the world is a stage and as a whole we are acting out spiritual truths as we are matured as a Species... as we come to recognize we are of both a Spiritual and of a Bodily form. We have a Soul influenced by both, who is daily being given choices. We come into wholeness as we walk with the Holy Spirit reigning over the body and soul, bringing about healing and inner transformations, it seems to be.
Spiritual Israel are those who are of the New Covenant of Christ. They are often referred to as Believers born of Gods' Holy Spirit or symbolically The Body and Bride Of Christ ... The Bride who prepares herself for her Bridegroom. Those created to be spiritually maturing representatives of the resurrected Spirit of Christ according to Father's preordained Prophetic Plan established at the Foundations of the world, which unfolds in God's timing and according to His purposes; enabling us to come into the Knowledge of God and His Kingdom Truths experientially. Such ones are Light Bearers... Jesus asks such a one to let His light shine through them... each is given a different measure/faction of this light, depending upon Father's purpose, it grows as we spend more time in HIS light through a living relationship the Spirit of the Lord.
